Last Spring I met a remarkable young women from the San Diego State Crew team that allowed me and photojournalist Jay Connor to tell her story. This Spring that story won an Emmy.
While I have been fortunate enough to win an Emmy before, this one felt a little different…in a good way. First, Samantha Stauber, our crew athlete, is absolutely one of the brightest lights that I have had the pleasure of watching shine. Second, I got to take my Dad to the award show for the first time, and I have to say the old guy cleans up pretty well!
I haven’t always delivered the best Father’s Day presents over the years, but I feel confident I nailed it this year. I just hope he doesn’t think he gets to keep the statue.
